Wer mal an einem Samstag oder Sonntag durch den Hamburger Mühlenkamp spaziert, kann es erleben. Das Zwanghafte zur Schau stellen von Statussymbolen. Für den ungeübten, vielleicht aber auch desinteressierten Beobachter mögen es nur Handtaschen, Handys oder alltägliche Kleidungsstücke sein. Tatsächlich geht es immer um das teuerste, für Geld zu kaufende. Es geht um Darstellung, um Präsentation der eigenen Möglichkeiten. Was aber passiert wenn nun alle das neueste Handy (Sie wissen schon - es ist ja erst vor einer Woche erschienen) oder die teuerste Handtasche haben? Alle laufen mit identischen Gegenständen herum. Niemand will wirklich individuell sein.

Ich habe am letzten Wochenende endlich ein Exemplar von Packeis kaufen können. Es handelt sich um einen Comic von Simon Schwartz. Ich hatte zunächst ganz naiv versucht, dass Buch über Amazon zu kaufen. Leider war es dort nicht zu bekommen. Auch im örtlichen Buchladen war das Buch bereits vergriffen. Also habe ich dem Autor eine kurze Mail mit der bitte um einen Tip geschickt. Die Antwort war allerdings enttäuschend. Sie enthielt lediglich den Hinweis auf Amazon und den Verlag. Wenig engagierte Anwort.

Zum Buch

Das Buch dreht sich um den ersten Menschen der den Nordpol erreichte - Matthew Henson. Im Buch geht es um Treue, Rassismus und Pioniergeist. Es ist gut geschrieben, durchaus spannend erzählt und gut gezeichnet. Die Geschichte steht klar im Mittelpunkt.

Ich empfehle dieses Buch auch jemandem der sonst vielleicht keine Comics lesen würde.

Ich werde mir wohl auch noch das erste Buch von Simon Schwartz kaufen. Wenn ich es denn irgendwo bekomme…
